150 cows looted by CODECO in attacks from Thursday to evening of Friday 24/07/2020

The militiamen of the mystical-religious and tribal group of CODECO, Cooperative for the development of the Congo signed several armed incursions from the evening of last Thursday until the evening of Friday, July 24, in particular in certain localities of Djugu, a territory under high tension of this militia.
First, 150 cows were looted on Friday July 24, 2020 in the evening by the CODECO attackers in the SAIKPA village of the TAMBAKI group in the Chiefdom of the Bahema Banywagi.
According to the Honorable KIZA NDJAZA, who reported the facts to media outlets, these cows were looted by the CODECO attackers, who left Penyi for the cantonment at BEDU-EZEKERE at the Walendu Tatsi. and were brought back in the direction of BEDU-EZEKERE.
This elected representative, who alerted to this new incursion, demands the return of these cows unconditionally to favor the return of Peace in the territory of Djugu.
On the other hand, the same CODECO attackers set fire to a trailer truck filled with goods in the JITSO village in the village of JITSO in the Walendu Djatsi sector on the RN27 in Djugu territory on the night of Thursday to Friday.
Jules TSUBA president of the civil society of this territory who confirmed the news, specifies that this trailer truck had broken down while he was in the convoy from Uganda to Kisangani. The convoy having left leaving this truck there, the attackers came at night to loot all the goods that were there and subsequently set the truck on fire.
During this time, the driver had returned to FATAKI Center to look for the part to be exchanged.
According to the same source, the vehicle would belong to a trader in the town of Kisangani, capital of the province of Tshopo, contiguous to Ituri, under the control of militia groups which are sowing concern among the population.
Note also that another attack, still from CODECO, was repelled by loyalist forces on Friday morning in Matete in Djugu territory.
After intense fighting, 5 suspected attackers were bagged by the military and an AK47-type weapon recovered.
