During the 41st weekly meeting of the Council of Ministers held by videoconference and chaired by the Head of State, Félix Tshisekedi, it was noted in the information points on the overall security situation of the country, a significant reduction in operational capacities of Ugandan ADF / MTM jihadists and others in the Beni region of North Kivu.
The Minister of State in charge of Congolese defense has all the same that the general situation remains
relatively calm and generally under control throughout the
National territory, notwithstanding the isolated insecurity centers that exist
in some areas of the eastern part of the country that the Armed Forces
are working to eradicate tirelessly, sa indicated by the council report.
"The Army thus relentlessly pursues the hunt for negative forces which
operate in a few territories in the east of the country, notably the
ADF / MTN, MAÏ-MAÏMAZEMBE, CODECO And Others Groups. ” we read.
And to continue that:
“These initiatives have resulted in a significant reduction in
operations of ADF terrorists and others, and to reissues
ongoing, as well as the dismantling of major strongholds. "
Note that in Beni, a new commander of the so-called SOKOLA 1 rigorous operations against the ADF rebels, perpetrators of the numerous massacres of civilians in the region, took office on Friday, July 24.
General Chirimwami replaces his colleague Nduru Ychaligonza, recalled for other duties in the second defense zone.

Citzens have done a great work in the arrest of an armed robber

Vigilant residents arrest armed man Residents of Kiwatule this afternoon foiled an attempted robbery in Kiwatule after gunman entered Liquid Cash Emergency Loans with intent to rob. The suspect, Isaac Mulengenyi, 23, reportedly fired in the air to scare onlookers however mob charged at him, arrested and handed him to police. A case of aggravated robbery has been opened at Ntinda Police Station Vide CRB 123/2019 while a rifle has been recovered with nine rounds of ammunition. The suspect is still being detained at Ntinda pending appearance before court.
