Minister of Defence and Veterans Affairs, Aimé Ngoyi Mukena spoke before the press in Goma on the security situation after the meeting chaired by the head of state Tuesday, October 6, 2020.

Aimé Ngoy Mukena praised the significant progress in the tracking operations of armed groups in eastern DRC with a view to seeking peace in this part of the country.

′′ During our trailer, we found that the Mbau-Kamango road is open only by the army. We visited every ADF sanctuary deserted by them and occupied by the army, but we need to go further ", he said.

The Minister of Defense says he believes that in order to have peace, you have to work on it. For this, he urges all Congolese people to trust his army and above all support the vision of the head of state to ensure that peace is effective throughout the entire hearing of the national territory.

′′ The new philosophy of the head of state is the will of peace, peace for all. That is, everyone every morning needs to know what they put on the plate of peace to promote peace and not war ", he said.

For this second day in the city of Goma, the head of state, Felix-Antoine Tshisekedi Tshilombo exchanged with the caucus of elected national deputies of North Kivu on security, social and economic issues.

He then gave a hearing to the traditional authorities in North Kivu province who came to present their peace plan.

Citzens have done a great work in the arrest of an armed robber

Vigilant residents arrest armed man Residents of Kiwatule this afternoon foiled an attempted robbery in Kiwatule after gunman entered Liquid Cash Emergency Loans with intent to rob. The suspect, Isaac Mulengenyi, 23, reportedly fired in the air to scare onlookers however mob charged at him, arrested and handed him to police. A case of aggravated robbery has been opened at Ntinda Police Station Vide CRB 123/2019 while a rifle has been recovered with nine rounds of ammunition. The suspect is still being detained at Ntinda pending appearance before court.
