7:45 a.m today., a large part of the territory of masisi is under fire after the resumption early morning Offensives by M23.. Intelligence sources from the frontline indicate that this morning clashes between self-defense youth and the rebels of M23
in the villages of Rebero, Katovu, near Kilolirwe, Nturo, Burungu and Rugetsi. My confidants from the battle field still say that
"Since 4 a.m. this Wednesday, the hills around the town of Kilolirwe including Burungu, rebero, Nturo, Braza, have been under fire. The rebels are seeking to preoccupy the areas where they were dislodged last Sunday by the Wazalendo "The resistance fighters want to keep the rebels away to open the Sake Kitshanga road and allow vehicle traffic to the north of the province," explains a local executive/leaders
in the area.As I talk fighting is still going on and many inside M23 say they will fight tooth and nail to retake their position and save the population.Rushebeshe is under the control of the young patriots "Wazalendo". "The rebels of M23 under strong pressure, were forced to abandon several hills and retreat to the rear positions" as in the video above. The strategic hill of Ndalinga overlooking the locality of Burungu already under Wazalendo control
Lushebeshe fully under the control of the wazalendo. Fighting is ongoing, according to several sources. However sources from M23 command at the frontline say it was a tactical withdrawal and are ready to fight back.
At around 12:00 p.m., the rebels tried to open another front north of the city of Goma to disorient the Self-Defense Forces in a tough fight in MASISI territory. "The young resistance fighters have just opened fire on the M23 rebels in the locality of KIZIMBA in Nyiragongo territory north of Goma when the rebels tried to attack first. There were harsh clashes in Nyamagori, Nyamigabe and Honero more or less 8km from the city of Kitchanga", explains a local source.
Several M23 corpses lie on the ground in Burungu. My confidant on the battle field sarcastically has told me"comrade if you have your traitor brother in M23 try to contact him if he is still alive. It's merciless on the ground"
Thousands of civilians have fled to take refuge in nearby localities.
FARDC has produced an official document report on Clash this Wednesday between the rebels of M23 and an unidentified armed group in the localities surrounding kilorirwe"the FARDC informs that they are not directly or remotely concerned, because they continue to observe the ceasefire as required by the agreements of the Heads of State of the Sub-Region”.
