Situation report in Kitchanga as of now, prior to the whole day of fighting in Masisi

It is almost a week now, since clashes have been regularly reported between M23 rebels and self-defense groups on the Kilolirwe-Kitshanga axis in Masisi territory. The young patriotic resistance fighters from Masisi, who seem determined to drive these rebels from their territory, have managed to make the situation difficult for them since the beginning of this week, with the conquest of several of their former positions. In the early hours of this Thursday, the M23, through different channels of communication, indicated that the city of Kitshanga had come under the control of the armed forces of the Democratic Republic of Congo, calling this a violation of the ceasefire agreed in the sheet road from Luanda signed with the aim of bringing peace to the east of the DRC. Shortly after, the Congolese army, through its spokesperson in North Kivu, warned the rebels who, according to an army press release, enjoy making statements tending to justify in advance their probable attacks on positions of the FARDC, an adventure which will cost them too dear, because “the army is more than ready and determined to prepare for any eventuality” we can read. All the information coming from Kitshanga proves that no self-defense group has approached this city well controlled by the Burundian troops of the regional force of the EAC, even less the FARDC which continues to camp on the decision of respect the famous ceasefire, a decision which cost them all the criticism from the civilian populations. This Thursday, all activities continued normally in Kitshanga: “Since the morning, we have not even heard the sound of a cartridge. It was at Kibarizo and Muhanga where the Wazalendo clashed with the M23 rebels. Here in Kitshanga, schools have been operating normally, shops are open, and everyone is going about their activities without problem,” Job BANDU, a resident of Kitshanga, told us. He nevertheless specifies that the only unusual movement observed today is the displacement of populations fleeing the atrocities: “The inhabitants of Buchalwichi, Kiyekire and Ngingwe all moved, some towards Mwesso and the others remained here in Kitshanga, but basically, there is nothing abnormal here.” The Congolese government continues to remind the M23 rebels to follow the process of pre-cantonment and cantonment before being demobilized, without which all restrictive means will be put in place in order to liberate all the areas of Rutshuru, Masisi and Nyiragongo that they occupy, he said.

Tutsi's from masisi cry out, claiming harrassement from Wazalendo

,"We members of the community Tutsi of North Kivu, are all helplessly witnessing the umpteenth abuse committed against us with the burning of the entire village of NTURO, locality Nyamitaba , Bashali Kaembe group, Bashali chiefdom in Masisi territory; videos in circulation as well as statements from certain group leaders of WAZALENDO as proof".However, many Congolese are saying that such saying that are hypocrites who want to hide behind Rwanda and kagame's plan to destabilize DRC.

clashes between the patriotic resistance fighters and the rebels of M23. After the conquest of several villages in the territory of masisi the young self-defense resistance fighters pursue the rebels in the territory of Rutshuru.

“At 12:30 p.m., the hill of KASOPO has just come under the control of the resistance, it is a hill overlooking the city of KIBARIZO.Information on front line indicate that Colonel Mutekano of m23 was killed as claimed in the photo below.

Meanwhile, clashes are underway in KANABA/MULIMBI in the Tongo group, Rutshuru Territory,” confides my Wazalendo contacts. However M23 top brass still says it is a tactical move as they may revenge in Bwiza.

Wazalendo takeover Nyenyeri and entire Busumbai

At around 8 p.m. in Kirumbu in the territory of Masisi , the resistance Patriots (wazalendo)have just taken control of the Nyenyeri position in Kirumbu center after tough fighting, which is now continuing on Kahuliro hill.

These young patriots have even just burned a rebel position. For the moment the sounds of weapons are gradually moving away from the city of Kirumbu. The entire town of Busumba is under the control of the Patriotic Resistance after dislodging the rebels there. However ,the m23 still maintain that this is a tactical withdrawal and they will continue much intelligence operations to plan and manage a successful counter offensives.

.......on frontline as we gather the information..

After reinforcements from Bwiza,M23 managed to retake kilorirwe and Burungu which had been held by wazalendo for hours

After the young patriotic resistance fighters managed to chase the M23 rebels in several hills around kilorirwe and burungu then control them for several hours this Wednesday 04/10, the M23 rebels received elements in reinforcements from their positions in Bwiza, and managed to dislodge the young self-defense workers from certain hills, due to their understaffing according to a source.

According to the latest news this evening, the rebels of m23 reoccupy the localities of Burungu, Rujebeshe as well as the surrounding hills of Burungu. The young resistance fighters retreated to the hills of Nyamitaba and surrounding areas. The hill called kichwa in the Rujugiro farm is controlled by the M23, while the young Patriot resistance fighters occupy the hills located in the Espoir farm.

In the Bashali Mukoto Group until 6:34 p.m., our local sources confirm harsh clashes in Kibarizo, Kirumbu and Busumba. There is a running rumour that the self proclaimed general who commanded the wazalendo on this attack may have been badly injured.
As I write this now, news from commanders on front line indicate that intensive intelligence, spying and reconnoitring is on high on both sides as high chance of more attacks awaits this coming dawn.

A large part of the territory of masisi is under fire after the resumption early morning Offensives by M23

By 7:45 a.m today., a large part of the territory of masisi is under fire after the resumption early morning Offensives by M23.

. Intelligence sources from the frontline indicate that this morning clashes between self-defense youth and the rebels of M23 in the villages of Rebero, Katovu, near Kilolirwe, Nturo, Burungu and Rugetsi.

My confidants from the battle field still say that "Since 4 a.m. this Wednesday, the hills around the town of Kilolirwe including Burungu, rebero, Nturo, Braza, have been under fire. The rebels are seeking to preoccupy the areas where they were dislodged last Sunday by the Wazalendo "The resistance fighters want to keep the rebels away to open the Sake Kitshanga road and allow vehicle traffic to the north of the province," explains a local executive/leaders

in the area.As I talk fighting is still going on and many inside M23 say they will fight tooth and nail to retake their position and save the population.

Rushebeshe is under the control of the young patriots "Wazalendo". "The rebels of M23 under strong pressure, were forced to abandon several hills and retreat to the rear positions" as in the video above.
The strategic hill of Ndalinga overlooking the locality of Burungu already under Wazalendo control
Lushebeshe fully under the control of the wazalendo. Fighting is ongoing, according to several sources. However sources from M23 command at the frontline say it was a tactical withdrawal and are ready to fight back.
At around 12:00 p.m., the rebels tried to open another front north of the city of Goma to disorient the Self-Defense Forces in a tough fight in MASISI territory. "The young resistance fighters have just opened fire on the M23 rebels in the locality of KIZIMBA in Nyiragongo territory north of Goma when the rebels tried to attack first. There were harsh clashes  in Nyamagori, Nyamigabe and Honero more or less 8km from the city of Kitchanga", explains a local source.

Several M23 corpses lie on the ground in Burungu. My confidant on the battle field sarcastically has told me"comrade if you have your traitor brother in M23 try to contact him if he is still alive. It's merciless on the ground"

Thousands of civilians have fled to take refuge in nearby localities.

FARDC has produced an official document report on Clash this Wednesday between the rebels of M23 and an unidentified armed group in the localities surrounding kilorirwe"the FARDC informs that they are not directly or remotely concerned, because they continue to observe the ceasefire as required by the agreements of the Heads of State of the Sub-Region”. 👇👇👇
