FARDC-UPDF coalition clash with ADF at Kainama

According to Intelligence sources,Elements of the FARDC-UPDF coalition foiled an attack by ADF rebels this Thursday, November 21, 2024 in the Banande-kainama group, Beni territory in North Kivu.

The attackers who had just led the incursion into the village of Kingamubhiri, saw their progress stopped by the aforementioned coalition which intervened urgently.

However, there was general paralysis of activities following the detonations of heavy and light weapons.

Information I have got now asserts:

"The ADF attacked Kingamubhiri, in Kainama, in broad daylight. The FARDC-UPDF coalition intervened to stop their maneuver. Following the detonations of heavy and light weapons, the inhabitants moved. Many went to concentrate in the position of the security elements for their protection," said Jonas Kasumba, president of the civil society of the Banande-kainama group.

Some confidant official sources, including village chiefs, have confirmed the news. However, they have limited themselves to confirming the facts.

It should be noted that this attack comes a few days after two others on the Eringeti-Kainama road axis, particularly in Bango, where one person died alongside several burnt properties including a car and several motorcycles.

The second attack took place last Wednesday. The toll was one civilian killed, another injured, a car set on fire and a few civilians missing.

Why are the Wazlendo very obsessed with Uganda.

I have again managed to get a letter written by one Wazlendo group trying to implicate Uganda on the M23 war/wars in DRC...

Alshaabab claims restablished presence in area between Births Sheet and Kismayo.

According to OSINT reports from Somalia,Alshaabab claims to be active once again in the area between Birta Dheer and Kismayo, within a 50 km stretch. The group's media wing released a video documenting an ambush against Jubaland (JL) forces stationed there, who were supported by NISA Gaashaan units. 16 soldiers were KIA and seems that Alshaabab is no longer taking prisoners, in contrast to the three videos released prior to this one. Unfortunately, Puntland's decision to execute Alshabaab prisoners appears to have prompted the militants to adopt back to policy of not sparing captured soldiers.

Security situation in Eastern DRC at the center of discussions at SADC summit.

President Félix Tshisekedi participated this Wednesday in the Extraordinary Summit of SADC Heads of State and Government in Harare, Zimbabwe. The security situation in eastern DRC was at the heart of the discussions.  The leaders assessed the commitment of the SADC Mission in the DRC (SAMIDRC) alongside the Congolese army in defending the country's territorial integrity in the face of Rwanda's aggression via the M23 terrorist group according to reports from the DRC presidency.

The SADC regional military mission in the eastern Democratic Republic of Congo (SAMIDRC) has just been extended by one year. This decision was taken during a SADC summit

Will SAKE and GOMA survive this weekend?

The civil society of the Kamuronza group alerts national and international opinion to a significant strengthening of the positions of the M23-RDF rebels in the territory of Masisi, province of North Kivu. In a series of investigative and intelligence research shows that the M23 made significant reinforcement in both arms, men and supplies and they are more determined to take over and cement their presence in Sake.According to HUMINT and OSINT sources from Bunagana up to Masisi, they are crude facts that puts M23 at high chance of taking SAKE town, some of these sources indicated that several dozen trucks carrying men and war materials have been seen in recent days in the localities of Mushaki, Karuba, Bihambwe and along the axis leading to the center of Masisi.

One source confirmed that!

“It’s no longer a secret. These enemy forces are massively deployed on the hills overlooking the localities of Sake, Shasha and Bweremana,” specifies the residence of the Kamuronza group, worried about the potential consequences of this deployment.According to Intelligence information from within the ranks of M23 ,there no fear, thorough plans are being laid for this operation and the supplies in all ways have been prucured and prepared.

Information from FARDC also indicates that there is no panick, but to several civilians both outside and inside DRC,they still do fully trust their army whom they blame for simply leaving M23 to easily capture areas. They say that ,if it was not Wazlendo, the whole of North kivu would have been taken. And one civilian bitterly blames the administration of paying them Meagre which he termed in local language as "kubaha Urusenda"

Faced with this worrying situation, an appeal is launched to the Armed Forces of the Democratic Republic of Congo (FARDC) as well as to the Wazalendo resistance fighters to redouble their vigilance and avoid any surprise effect. Civil society insists on the urgency of a strategic response in order to prevent a possible advance by the rebels in this region already affected by insecurity.

Will Kampala manage to convince Tshisekedi to talk with M23

The Congolese parliamentary mission to Kampala ended on Monday, November 18. The deputies who took part in this 7-day mission submitted their report on Tuesday, November 19 to the President of the National Assembly, Vital Kamerhe. According to them, this mission was fruitful.

Diplomatic relations between Uganda and the DRC are eminently strategic given the extent of the border that the two countries share, explained Lambert Mende Omalanga who led the Congolese delegation.

At the end of this mission, the President of the Ugandan Parliament, Anita Annet Among, announced, via the Congolese delegation, to her counterpart Vital Kamerhe, that she will in the coming days lead a mission to Kinshasa to follow up on the discussions initiated with the Congolese parliamentary mission that she received in Kampala.

The delegation of Congolese national elected officials also spoke with Ugandan President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, who said he was very satisfied with this bridge established between the Parliaments of the two countries.

Led by National Deputy Lambert Mende Omalanga, this mission aimed to discuss with Ugandan political authorities and the DRC-Uganda friendship group on strengthening constructive diplomacy for peace between these two African nations.

Rival Wazlendo factions clash as they face more challenges of Meagre and limited payments from DRC gorvenment.

The Wazalendo FAR-W movement denounced an attack on its position at Kanyangoma by the MPA/AP movement on Tuesday, November 19. In a statement, the FAR-W described the incident as "yet another provocation" that "presents a bad image with regard to the mission entrusted to us."

On a working mission to Goma in the East of the Democratic Republic of Congo, 5 elected national deputies from North Kivu spoke with the Military Governor of North Kivu, Major General Peter Cirimwami about the security, socio-economic situation and the development of the province.

After a visit to some construction sites in the city of Goma and its surroundings with the governor, these elected officials from North Kivu revealed that regarding the management of patriotic fighters known as wazalendo who are fighting against Rwandan aggressors, Kinshasa only sends 300,000 USD per month to support nearly 60,000 wazalendo and unfortunately for nearly 4 months, this support has not arrived.

"We will shortly contact the Deputy Prime Minister in charge of defense for the problem of resources for the care of the wazalendo, then we will call the chief of staff of the Prime Minister Judith Suminwa for the problem of retrocession, the province of North Kivu needs it," said national deputy Patrick Munyomo.

According to figures provided by the elected national deputy of Masisi Justin Ndayishimiye, with an allocation of 300,000 USD per month sent by Kinshasa, each muzalendo element receives a minimum of 5 US dollars monthly.

"This sum is very small, let Kinshasa do something for those who are fighting for the nation against the Rwandan aggressors and their allies. Imagine 5 dollars a month for a muzalendo and his family, it represents absolutely nothing," he said.

5 elected national deputies from North Kivu are on a mission to Goma sent by the President of the National Assembly Vital Kamerhe. Several questions concerning the life of the province were discussed by these elected national representatives with the military governor of North Kivu.

A heads of state meeting on war in eastern DRC to convene on 20/11/2024 under the presidence of Munangwangwa

An extraordinary summit of SADC Heads of State will be held on November 20, 2024 in Harare, under the presidency of Emmerson Mnangagwa, to discuss regional security, with a particular focus on eastern DRC. The summit will assess the progress of the SADC Mission in the DRC (SAMIDRC), deployed since December 2023 for a one-year mandate. This meeting will be preceded by preparatory meetings, including a Troika summit led by Samia Suluhu Hassan, President of Tanzania.

This meeting comes as the M23 rebels, supported by Rwanda according to Kinshasa, continue to expand in North Kivu despite a ceasefire. The DRC is banking on diplomacy to resolve this crisis and is demanding the withdrawal of Rwandan troops. The SAMIDRC force, supposed to stabilize the region, is struggling to activate on the ground, despite the planned support from MONUSCO and recent discussions with the UN to accelerate its mission.

The core ,dangerous and malicious strategies of ISIS our Moslem communities in Uganda should be careful of.

From its emergence to the present day, ISIS has heavily invested in and operated through three core strategies, which elucidate the foundation and objectives of their movement.

1. Takfir (Excommunication):

ISIS embraces the doctrine of “takfir”, whereby individuals who dissent from their ideology are branded as disbelievers (kafir) or apostates (murtad). In accordance with this ideology, they target fellow Muslims, Islamic scholars, and Islamic communities, deeming them as adversaries.

The ISIS group labels all Muslims outside their ideological sphere as apostates, irreligious, or disbelievers. They rationalize warfare against them as jihad and persist in their unjust war against authentic Muslims.

2. Misinterpretation of Shariah:

ISIS distorts the interpretation of Islamic Shariah to align with their own desires, manipulating its tenets to validate their illicit actions through selective and misinterpreted references.

In Islamic Shariah, the unjustified taking of an innocent life is akin to the extermination of all of humanity. Nonetheless, the ISIS-Khawarij routinely martyr innocent Muslims without rationale, assaulting them and perpetuating their conflict even within an Islamic nations.

3. Spreading Fear and Terror:

ISIS endeavors to attain its malevolent and illicit objectives through fear, tyranny, and brutality. They sow chaos wherever they traverse, mercilessly killing children, oppressing young females, exploiting them as slaves, and using these heinous acts to besmirch the reputation of the Islamic caliphate.

The actions and behaviors of ISIS clearly indicate that it is an extremist, takfiri, and barbaric faction. Their aim is to besmirch Islam, dismantle the revered concept of the Islamic caliphate that governed with dignity for centuries and upheld the sanctity of Islam.

Their True Objectives:

ISIS aspires to fracture the Muslim Ummah into myriad factions, eliminate unity among Muslims, and dismantle the Islamic system in regions like Afghanistan. However, their aspirations will never come to fruition as long as the true guardians of Islam and valiant Mujahideen endure in this religion, by the will of Allah.

The ISIS agenda:

Most Islamic scholars and researchers concur that the leaders and members of ISIS exhibit deceitfulness in their actions and beliefs. They manipulate the principles and values of Islam to further their political agendas and deceive individuals with distorted interpretations.

According to religious scholars, the actions of ISIS are in direct opposition to Islamic principles, as Islam is a religion of peace, compassion, and fairness, while ISIS advocates for violence and radicalism.

The following are the primary reasons why Islamic scholars identify ISIS leaders as deceitful:

1. Misrepresentation of Religion

ISIS leaders and members distort Islamic texts and Prophetic sayings to suit their own objectives, presenting them inaccurately to mislead individuals into supporting their agendas.

2. Killing of Muslims

Islamic teachings strictly forbid the killing of Muslims and innocent individuals, yet ISIS frequently engages in such acts, falsely categorizing them as enemies of infidels or non-believers, which lacks any basis in Islamic doctrines.

3. Extremism and Rigidity

Islam advocates for a moderate approach, whereas ISIS embraces extremism and rigidity, inaccurately depicting these traits as essential to Islam. This constitutes a flagrant violation of Islamic precepts.

4. Claiming the Caliphate

ISIS claims to have established an Islamic caliphate and demands obedience, but in Islam, the caliphate requires specific conditions and consensus among scholars and the Muslim community. ISIS fails to meet these criteria and deceives individuals with fraudulent assertions of a caliphate for personal gain.

5. Distortion of Jihad

ISIS misuses the concept of jihad, which has specific rules and conditions in Islam. Inflicting harm upon innocent individuals, women, children, and non-combatants is not aligned with jihad. Nevertheless, ISIS portrays jihad as violent and extreme, directly opposing the genuine essence of Islam.

6. Killing Innocent People

ISIS kills innocent people, including Muslims, and oppresses them. Islam forbids the killing of innocent people, and the Quran states that killing one innocent person is like killing all of humanity. But ISIS disregards these principles, falsely justifying these acts in the name of Islam.

7. Distorting the Concept of Martyrdom

ISIS claims that anyone who carries out a suicide attack in their fight is a martyr and will go to paradise. However, in Islam, a martyr is someone who dies for the sake of Allah. ISIS falsely considers those who die in unjust acts as martyrs.

8. Attributing Divine Support to Their Extremism

ISIS falsely claims that their fight and actions are supported by Allah and that those who oppose them are enemies of Allah. This claim is a way to deceive people because Islam calls on every Muslim to follow its true principles, not extremism.

All of these points underscore the falsehoods perpetuated by ISIS, who improperly leverage the name of Islam to rationalize extremism and violence.

How ISIS recruits people in their ranks:

3. The Use of Social Media:

In light of the internet and virtual media’s significant role in shaping public opinion, ISIS extensively leverages virtual channels to disseminate its message globally and attract diverse audiences.

In this modern era, media and social networks serve as crucial platforms for furthering political, military, social, and cultural agendas. ISIS’s unrestrained and widespread activity on social platforms facilitates the achievement of specific objectives.

The propaganda tools employed by ISIS can be categorized into two distinct groups:

1. Virtual Media and Social Networks: This encompasses propaganda efforts conducted through platforms such as WhatsApp, X, Facebook, Telegram, and others.

2. Traditional Media: This involves utilizing radio and television to disseminate messages and advertisements.

Through various media channels, ISIS conveys three significant messages. Firstly, by publicizing its brutal acts and atrocities, the group aims to instill fear and terror in individuals. Secondly, through the dissemination of fabricated and staged reports, it seeks to project authority and control.

The third media stream of ISIS portrays certain humanitarian scenes that are in stark contrast to its primary stream.

ISIS utilizes this dual and contradictory strategy to both display strength and cultivate a degree of popularity among a global audience. However, it is unlikely to achieve these objectives.

Overall, ISIS’s agenda on these networks includes capturing attention, legitimizing its presence, establishing acceptance, and demonstrating power.

While various groups and movements have utilized media power, ISIS has effectively maximized available media resources to further its goals. Consequently, some analysts have labeled the internet as “ISIS’s primary battlefield.”
