M23 positions bombed on the Ngungu axis by the Sukhoi-25.

According to information from Frontline reaching us now,the Congolese army used its Sukhoi-25 fighter plane this Thursday, December 26, to target the positions of the M23 rebels, supported by Rwanda.

Early this Thursday morning, the Sukhoi-25 pounded the M23 strongholds on the Bitagata axis in Masisi territory, more than 70 km west of Goma.

The use of the Sukhoi-25 comes at a time when the army and Wazalendo are facing the M23 rebels in several axes of North Kivu. The fighter plane is brought into play after several months without appearing on the front lines.

On this Thursday, December 26, Similarly ,clashes are pitting the Wazalendo resistance against the M23-RDF rebels in the town of Peti, located in the Kisimba group, Walikale territory (North Kivu). According to Frontline sources, detonations of heavy and light weapons have been echoing since the early hours of the morning, testifying to the brutality of the fighting that is shaking this region.

For the moment, no precise assessment has been established, as the clashes are still ongoing. Peti is located about ten kilometers from the town of Pinga, a strategic area that seems to be at the heart of the hostilities.

3rd defence zone takes over the overall responsibilities for military operations in North and south kivu

 

According to military intelligence collections we have got now,the former Commander of Land Forces and Operations Coordinator for North and South Kivu, Lieutenant General Fall Sikabwe has transferred operational responsibilities to the 3rd Defense Zone.

According to military intelligence sources,this gives the authority to Gen pacifique Masunzu to take on decisions directly .And it is with this effect,that Masunzu has directed all civilians living in areas under M23 to vacate and leave immediately.It seems Masunzu is going to carry out a mass bombardment of the areas and does not want civilians to die,FARDC has been complaining of M23 using the civilians as shield.

The clashes between the FARDC supported by the WAZALENDO against TWIRWANEHO coalition have just resumed this Thursday morning, December 26, in MINEMBWE.

 

By 09:30, the clashes are concentrated in the villages of kisoke and Evomi a few kilometers from KABINGO.

Since yesterday, December 25,  TWIRWANEHO coalition under the supervision of the deserter colonel Ru ukundo MAKANIKA that it attacked the positions of the FARDC around the rural commune of MINEMBWE where they are fighting for the conquest of the airport of this rural commune in order to receive reinforcements in men and weapons from the Rwandan army by air.

The clashes are ongoing and the FARDC supported by the WAZALENDO are doing very well.

14 M23's have been captured by Wazalendo on Kibumba axis.

FARDC announces the shooting down of Kamikaze drones from Rwandan army special forces.

 

The  Armed Forces of the Democratic Republic of Congo (FARDC) announced on Wednesday, December 25, that they had shot down six kamikaze drones from the Rwandan army's special force over the town of Mambasa, in the Lubero territory.

This information was provided by Lieutenant Colonel Mak Hazukay, responsible for communication and awareness raising for the Sokola 1 Great North operational sector, as he briefed the press.

In another statement signed on the same Friday, the FARDC denounced the use by the M23, supported by Rwanda, of young Congolese civilians, dressed in Rwandan military fatigues, as "cannon fodder" on the front lines, particularly near Mambasa and Alimbongo, in the south of the Lubero territory.

In this statement signed by Colonel Mak Hazukay, the army also warns of the presence of armed M23 rebels in churches, schools and hospitals in the areas under their occupation south of Lubero. A serious violation of international humanitarian law, the statement said.

 The FARDC calls on civilians used as human shields to surrender with their weapons and urges residents of occupied areas to move away from targeted positions for their safety.

M23's Herman Gasasira killed by wazalendo in Rukoro

 

One of the M23's operations leaders on the Rutshuru axis, Mr. Herman Gasasira, was killed this Wednesday, December 25, 2024 in Rukoro of Rutshuru territory by the Wazalendo resistance fighters.

He was Known for his key role in bloody massacres of hutu civilians, he was a priority target of the Wazalendo who have been monitoring his movements and documenting his attrocities towards the hutu communities in the area.Today,the wazalendo managed to eliminate him and many say the wazalendo have done justice to the victims of his crimes.
