Did Lt Colonel Jacque Nzitonda of RDF hang himself in katale?

Photo:Letter left by Lt Colonel Nzitonda before he hanged hiimself

There are Claims that Lt Colonel Jacques Nzitonda, a member of the RDF terrorist group, before committing suicide in the DRC, left a letter to his family, telling them the reasons why he decided to commit suicide.

He wrote: I, Lt Colonel Jacques Nzitonda, have decided to commit suicide because of the behavior of the RDF leadership.

He wrote: I did not swear to come to die in Congo, I swore to defend the sovereignty of Rwanda, I did not swear to be sent to Congo,we are witnesses to how our soldiers are dying here in Congo for reasons that are incomprehensible.

He laments: I apologize to my family, I know this is very sad for you, but I have no other choice because if I return to Rwanda and am killed, that is why I choose to commit suicide, I will meet you in another life.We do not join the army to fight the Congolese, we join the army to defend our country in times of crisis.

Jack Nzitonda was among the RDF soldiers who were promoted by His excellence Paul Kagame in September 2024 as shown by the extracts in the photos above.

On this issue, the M23 has categorically denied this and brandished it hoax and a propaganda by FARDC to cover up their defeat in masisi.

Why is Rwanda denying the soldiers captured in DRC?

Photo 2:EJVN team interviewing the captured Rwandan soldier

A delegation from the Expanded Joint Verification Mechanism (EJVM) met on Thursday, January 2, with the alleged Rwandan soldier captured by the Armed Forces of the Democratic Republic of Congo (FARDC) in the Lubero territory in North Kivu. Several military effects including weapons, bombs and drone wreckage recovered on the battlefield were also presented to the delegation, security sources reported on Friday.

This MCVE delegation was tasked with verifying Rwanda's direct involvement in the war in eastern DRC, said the spokesperson for the Sokola 1 Grand Nord operational sector, Colonel Mak Hazukay.

This visit comes twelve days after the capture at the front, on December 21, of the alleged first class soldier of the special unit of the Rwandan army by the FARDC. This was during the clashes between the army and the M23 rebellion, supported by Rwanda, in the village of Ndoluma in the south of the Lubero territory.

It was at the invitation of the governor of the province of North Kivu and the commander of operations of the Sokola 1 Grand Nord operational sector that this delegation arrived on Thursday in Lubero centre, approximately 50 kilometres from the front lines.

They went to Lubero territory where fighting has intensified in recent weeks. They spoke with military officials engaged against the M23 rebels in the region.

Jean-de-Dieu Iradakunda, a first class soldier in the Rwandan army arrested on 21 December during clashes in the locality of Nduluma, south of Lubero, was one of the pieces of evidence presented to the expanded joint verification mechanism.

In addition, several military effects of the Rwanda Defence Force (RDF) seized by Congolese troops were also brandished. For the military authorities, the Democratic Republic of Congo wants to call the international community to witness the role played by the Kigali regime in the destabilisation of eastern Congo.

"Several RDF military effects, including weapons, bombs, specialties and wrecks of kamikaze drones recovered from the battlefield, were presented to the delegation. The objective of this approach is to show, through the expanded joint verification mechanism and other structures, which advocate the return of peace in the DRC, the flagrant involvement and role played by Rwanda in the war of aggression in the DRC," explains Lieutenant Colonel Mak Hazukay, military spokesperson in the area.

The Congolese government has always denounced the presence of more than 4,000 Rwandan soldiers, who support the M23 armed group. However, Kigali has always rejected these accusations outright, claiming that the conflict was rather Congolese-Congolese.

Against a backdrop of mutual accusations, relations between the two countries have deteriorated to the point of no return. The latest attempts by Joao Laurenço, Angolan president and designated facilitator of the African Union in the conflict, have come to nothing, while Félix Tshisekedi and Paul Kagame are due to meet in Luanda on 15 December for the signing of a final peace agreement.

The expanded Joint Verification Mechanism was established to monitor and verify the implementation of regional agreements and commitments, particularly those on peace and security in the Great Lakes region, particularly with regard to issues related to armed conflict, cross-border security, illegal exploitation of natural resources and the fight against groups.

However, despite the establishment of this mechanism created within the framework of the Addis Ababa Framework Agreement in 2013, borders, including those of the DRC, are constantly violated, notably by its neighbor, Rwanda, through militias of its obedience, including the M23.

M23 captures Kabale in masisi, Gorvenment not ready to give report on the capture!

The situation in North Kivu is deteriorating. The M23 rebels, supported by the Rwandan army, took control of Katale, the last lock of the capital of the Masisi territory, this Friday afternoon. The fighting was violent and pitted the M23 against the FARDC, supported by local armed groups. Lushebere and Masisi-centre, about 10 km from Katale, are emptying of their inhabitants. The Congolese army has not yet communicated on this situation.

Factual Intelligence extracts,If the two gorvenments amicably discussed about M23 previously, why can't they do it today?

If they discussed about M23 then, why can't they continue doing it today?

SUKHOI 25 fires on positions of M23!

Today, December 29, 2024, Sukhoi-25 carried on a job by striking the RDF frontline positions in Alimbongo, Lubero territory. Later in the evening, noting the persistence of the rebels in Mweso, also  targeted the RDF ammunition depots, a strategic site long used as an ammunition warehouse and transit point for frontline troops. These actions illustrate a remarkable intensification of FARDC operations in this crucial region. FARDC alerts "Do not be surprised or manipulated by a fake video that was edited by Willy Ngoma and Kanyuki where they presented some civilians and their elements by calling them captured of War in Alimbongo today Sunday 29/December. The weapons, ammunition and the so-called captured are montages of the M23-RDF coalition to try to raise morale in their side".

The population is asked to leave the vicinity of the RDF installations. The positions of the M23RDF terrorists of Mwesso in Masisi and its surroundings are currently under bombardment by drones and heavy artillery . Several M23 have been neutralized. Rwandan parents have again lost their sons because of Congolese minerals. The Rwandan army thinks that the strikes of the DRC air force could come after several days of the communiqué off. Several deaths and injuries are recorded in the ranks of the M23-RDF coalition. The FARDC supported by the WAZALENDO no longer have time to lose. In addition, a precarious calm is observed on the lines of Kibumba, Sake and Bweremana, our sources say.

The government of the Republic has been informed of the opening of a trial against Rwanda before the African Court on Human and Peoples' Rights (ACHPR). According to the information note presented at the 28th meeting of the Council of Ministers, held on Friday, December 27, 2024, by the Minister of State, Minister of Justice and Keeper of the Seals, Constant Mutamba, the public hearing will be held on February 12, 2025 at the seat of the Court in Arusha, United Republic of Tanzania. "Following our application, filed in September 2023, contesting Rwanda's violations of the rights of civilian populations in the East of the Democratic Republic of Congo, the African Court on Human and Peoples' Rights has just informed the government that it will open the trial against Rwanda on February 12, 2025. Well before a possible conviction of Rwanda, and by extension of its President Paul Kagame, for massive violations of human rights in our country, the opening of this trial constitutes in itself a victory for our nation. It places Rwanda in a critical position vis-à-vis human rights organizations, international partners and institutions sensitive to these issues," reports the minutes of the meeting held in Mbuji-Mayi, capital of the Kasai-Oriental province. Furthermore, the Minister of State, Minister of Justice and Keeper of the Seals reminded the Council that the International Criminal Court (ICC) has reactivated its investigations in the Democratic Republic of Congo concerning crimes falling within its jurisdiction committed by Rwanda. He also mentioned that the East African Community (EAC) Court of Justice opened, in September 2024, a trial opposing the DRC to Rwanda for intentional violation of the constitutive treaty of this organization.

Burundians among a hundred fighters neutralized in SouthKivu

Since yesterday Friday December 27, in the east of DRC, clashes have been reported on the heights of Minembwe with the FARDC. A dozen Burundian fighters from Twirwaneho were neutralized by the FARDC.

The Twirwaneho movement of self-proclaimed General Makanika continues its recruitment of young Burundians. This is because after having pledged allegiance to the Rwandan army of PaulKagame, these fighters signed a field protocol with the Red_Tabara at the injunction of Kigali.

Hakizimana Iradukunda Jean de Dien a RDF soldier captured in Lubero proves Rwanda is directly fighting DRC but hiding under the umbrella of M23

A first class soldier of the Rwandan special forces unit, captured at the Lubero front in eastern Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), was presented on Thursday at a press conference held by the spokesperson for Sokola 1 Grand Nord-Kivu operations, Lieutenant Colonel Mak Hazukay.

This soldier, captured last Saturday between Mambasa and Ndoluma in the middle of combat, was described by the Congolese authorities as tangible proof of Rwanda's direct involvement in the conflict in the DRC.  "It is Rwanda that is fighting the DRC," Lieutenant Colonel Hazukay told journalists gathered in the Lubero hills.

Kinshasa accuses Kigali of having deployed more than 4,000 soldiers on its territory, mainly in the province of North Kivu, where clashes have intensified in recent months. These accusations are supported by United Nations reports, which confirm that Rwandan forces are no longer limited to supporting the M23 rebel group, but are also carrying out direct military interventions.

"There are credible reports that Rwanda's military interventions in North Kivu have extended beyond operations in support of the M23," Linda Thomas-Greenfield, the United States ambassador to the United Nations, said Monday during a Security Council session on the situation in the DRC.

The Security Council recently extended the mandate of the United Nations Stabilization Mission in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (MONUSCO) by one year, until December 2025. The United States supported this decision while regretting the absence of an explicit mention of Rwanda's role in the destabilization of eastern Congo.

"We are disappointed that some Council members have been unwilling to include language describing Rwanda's role in eastern DRC," Linda Thomas-Greenfield said.

She added that Rwandan forces, estimated at 3,000 to 4,000 men, are actively supporting the M23 rebels and reinforcing their positions in North Kivu.
