The delegation has the a humanitarian cargo of drugs, materials and other health supplies that form European Union support in the response to the of-19 pandemic in the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
The delegation was welcomed at the international airport by the Minister of State as Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ntumba Nzeza.
European Union Humanitarian Commissioner and head of delegation, Janez Lenarcic, welcomed the good cooperation between the Congo and the European Union. For him, the good news is that the European Union is supporting the DRC in the fight against the coronavirus pandemic.
" The most important news is that the Democratic Republic of the Congo is not alone. She has friends and among these friends, is the European Union which is a strong friend, who wants to support your country in the fight against the coronavirus. There are many things, it's humanitarian equipment and also medical equipment to support the efforts of the Democratic Republic of the Congo to deal with the coronavirus pandemic ", he said.
For her part, the Minister of State and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ntumba Nzeza, thanked the European Union for her medical support: " It is with joy that we receive this gift that actually reminds us that we are from the international community and that our problems concern the rest of the world and especially all our usual partners. We thank you so much ".
Just after the airport, the European delegation went to the INRB where they symbolically handed over equipment.
The program plans for meetings with Prime Minister Ilunga ilunkamba and President Felix Tshisekedi.
After Kinshasa, part of this important delegation will go to Goma in North Kivu.
