After tensions observed within the rebel movement NDC-Renové and fighting between the two factions of the NDC-R which caused a massive displacement of the populations in the locality of pinga in the territory of Walikale, the Congolese army announces by its spokesperson from the 34th military region a redistribution of a hundred fighters from the side of the NDC movement of Guidon as from the side of the NDC led by Bwira.
According to the spokesperson for operations sokola 2 Major ndjike kaiko, some hundred fighters surrendered following an awareness campaign made last Saturday in pinga by the provincial authority who went to sympathize with the population in distress.
He adds that around 50 weapons have been received by the army from these fighters.
He also welcomes the initiative of the provincial governor in sensitizing young people to a commitment to peace by laying down their arms.
Note that a delegation made up of the provincial governor Carly Nzanzu Kasivita, the president of the provincial assembly of North Kivu accompanied by the provincial elected representatives of Walikale and Masisi, the commander of the 34th military region and the head of office of Monusco Goma encouraged the FARDC in the hunt for the rebels and comforted the population of pinga victims of the fighting between these two rebel factions in July.
