FARDC claims to have neutralized 8 new militiamen from the CODECO armed group, following clashes reported on several fronts in the territories of Djugu and Irumu.
Lieutenant Jules Ngongo, military spokesperson in Ituri specifies that early in the morning of this Tuesday June 09, 2020, a position of the 3308th regiment of the armed forces established in the locality of Adjo-Kapele in sector of Walendu Tatsi, managed to kill 3 militiamen during an attack.
In addition, in Irumu, it was an attempted attack which was thwarted by loyalist soldiers in the village of Mwanga in the western suburbs of the town of Bunia, there again 5 elements of the militia were killed.
"The armed forces inflicted a maximum of losses in the enemy camp with a total of 8 assailants neutralized and at least three people arrested, in particular Mrs. Francine Malosi, collaborator of CODECO, Mr. Ngabu Deogratias, great witch doctor of CODECO fallen in the nets of services security, as well as a large CODECO commander, Mr. Lokana, arrested in Katanga ”, he explained.
