11 key points on the reopening of Democratic Republic of Congo border points

In a Circular from the General Directorate of Migration (DGM) signed, this Saturday, August 15, 2020, for the attention of all provincial directors and special heads of post concerning the opening of borders today.
“Moreover, taking into account the persistence of the Covid-19 disease, you have a duty to ensure that the barrier measures my agents and migrants in your respective entities are respected”, we can read.
These provisions come into effect as follows:
1. Respect for the compulsory nature of migratory formalities by the migrant wearing his mask, after washing his hands and taking the temperature;
2. Obligation for all travelers to present, on entry and exit, a medical certificate confirming the negative result of the Covid-19 test carried out three days before travel;
3. Respect for physical distancing by migrants during formalities using markings on the ground in the halls and / or arrival and departure areas;
4. Compulsory wearing by agents of gloves, masks and regular disinfection of the hands with hydro-alcoholic gel;
5. Assignment of an agent to the departure and arrival box or station;
6. Use of a reduced staff (per shift);
7. Awareness of officers on Covid-19;
8. Monitoring of the health status of staff;
9. Periodic evaluation by Covid-19 tests of all agents (every two weeks);
10. Permanent disinfection of all premises at border and border posts;
11. Integration of all the arrangements made at the local level by the provincial authorities.
It should be specified that this takes place in execution of the measures taken by the President of the Republic in his speech of July 21, 2020 on the end of the state of health emergency, in particular that relating to the reopening from this August 15, 2020 from all borders of the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
