2 new ebola cases in lotumbe health zone


Two new cases of Ebola virus disease have been recorded in Ecuador. This is a first case in the Lotumbe health zone in Lotumbe and another in the Monieke health zone in Penzele.
The news is contained in the epidemiological bulletin of this disease, of August 13, 2020, made public this ended Friday.
“Since the start of the epidemic declared on June 01, 2020, the cumulative number of cases is 88, including 84 confirmed and 4 probable. In total, there were 36 deaths (32 confirmed and 4 probable) and 37 survivors of EVD (Ebola virus disease) ”, As read in the report.
It should be noted that more than 22,000 people have so far been vaccinated against the Ebola epidemic in Ecuador, since the start of vaccination on June 5.
