9 civilians were killed with machetes and bullets by suspected Allied Democratic Forces (ADF) fighters in two different attacks in the villages of Mapasana and Mabuho, near the town of Mamove, west of the city of oicha, in the territory of Beni (North Kivu).This territory is slow getting overrun by ADF massacres.People in this territory can no longer carry on their activities normally as revealed by the locals.
Local civil societies indicate that the first attack first took place in the village of Mapasana,evening of Monday at 9 p.m which left three people dead.
The second, which killed six people, was recorded on Tuesday in the neighboring village of Mabuho, reports Kinos Katuho, president of civil society in Mamove. That makes a total of nine civilians killed in the 48 hour interval in this region. This figure could increase because six other people are missing, adds the same source.
Killings by Ugandan ADF rebels have inreased tremendously in Beni. Last week at least 24 deaths were reported on the Mbau-Kamango road in various attacks dating back to August 14, among the victims of whom were two soldiers of Congolese national army.
