Citizen movements oppose Paul Kagame's coming to Goma

President Tshisekede arrives in Goma

Like I told you last night, that PresidentTshisekede is already in goma,he dropped in Goma by surprise at around 6:49 pm.i  got an alert of his arrival at around 7:09pm but my contacts were not easily available to confirm it very fast.HE IS MAINLY GOING TO DISCUSS INSECURITY IN EASTERN DRC!!

However,Citizen movements and youth organizations are organizing a new demonstration this

Friday, September 18th in Kinshasa; to demand the departure of Rwandan ambassador Vincent Karega; and oppose Paul Kagame's arrival at the mini-summit to take place in Goma.

This is what we read in a joint press release of 18 signatory organizations; which also participated in the last demonstration held in front of the Rwanda embassy in Kinshasa.

According to them, the goal, which is to get Vincent Karega's departure, is not yet achieved; they remain mobilized and determined to honor thousands of Congolese people killed by Rwandan soldiers and their Congolese accomplices since 1996.

′′ We remain mobilized and determined until Vincent Karega leaves. It goes from our dignity as a people but also to honor the millions of the deaths of the Congolese massacred by the Rwandan army and complicit Congolese deaths since 1996. The goal is not achieved, we announce the organization of a peaceful march this Friday September 18, 2020. It will have the Ministry of Foreign Affairs as a drop point where a memorandum will be submitted. We oppose Paul Kagame's arrival in Goma to take part in the mini-summit of heads of state planned in this city and call on people to mobilize massively to manifest this refusal ", says the press release.

They say remind the authorities that they have an obligation to protect Congolese citizens who protest peacefully.

It should be noted that Paul Kagame will participate in the mini-summit of 5 heads of state in the Great Lakes region; which will be held in the next few days in the city of Goma by invitation of FĂ©lix Tshisekedi.

Even though the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Burundi said that President Evariste Ndaishimiye is unavailable to participate in this summit; his Congolese counterpart Marie-Ntumba Nzenza who acknowledged that the summit can be delayed, said that all states are seized, and that no one will be absent.
