Intensification of fighting between the FARDC and the M23 in North Kivu.

According to local sources, fighting has resumed after a lull observed since Monday. The clashes are taking place near Kaseghe, a locality located approximately 20 km north of Kirumba, the main commercial center of the Lubero territory. The same sources report that the FARDC, supported by the wazalendo, launched an offensive against the positions of the rebels who are not progressing following a shield imposed near Alimbongo, through which the M23 rebels wanted to bypass on Monday in order to reach Lubero-center via Kasugho.
