130 Alshabaab miltants killed

At least 130 al-Shabaab militants were killed during simultaneous military operations in central and southern Somalia, the country's Defense Ministry said on Sunday, claiming to have liberated large swaths of land from the al-Qaeda-affiliated terrorist group in the past three days.

The Somali National Army, backed by local forces, has been conducting separate military operations against al-Shabaab terrorists in the central province of Mudug in Hirshabelle state, as well as the southern state of Jubaland, which have been ongoing for the past three days, the Defense Ministry said in a statement.

The army also seized weapons and equipment from terrorist hideouts, which were destroyed during military operations, it added.

“Large swaths of territory were liberated” during these operations, which the ministry called against the “Khawarijs,” an Arabic term used for the first sect in Islam that rebelled against Islamic rule in the early years after Prophet Mohammad, the last of the Muslim’s prophets, demise.

During these operations, "large swaths of territory were liberated" from the "Khawarijs," an Arabic term for the first sect in Islam that rebelled against Islamic rule in the early years following the passing of Prophet Mohammad, the last of the Muslim prophets.

“Caadley, Buurta Yagoos, and the vicinity of Baraag Ismaaciil, all located in Mudug region” are liberated from the terrorist group, the ministry said.

“The Somali National Army and the People's Defense Forces are determined to continue the war against the Khawarij until they are eradicated from the country,” the statement said.

Somalia has been plagued by insecurity for years, with the main threats emanating from al-Shabaab and the Daesh/ISIS terror groups.

Since 2007, al-Shabaab terror group has been fighting the Somali government and the African Union Transition Mission in Somalia (ATMIS), a multidimensional mission authorized by the African Union and mandated by the United Nations Security Council.

The terror group has increased attacks since the Somali president, who was elected for a second term last year, declared an "all-out war" on al-Shabaab.

Corneille Nangaa,General John Numbi and Berttand Bisiimwa form an allience in Nairobi

The former president of the Independent National Electoral Commission (CENI) of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), Corneille Nangaa, current leader of the political party "Action for the Dignity of Congo and its people" (ADCP), officially launched this Friday a new coalition called “Alliance Fleuve Congo”. From Nairobi, Kenya, Nangaa held a press conference where he revealed that this anti-Félix Tshisekedi alliance brings together various groups, including the M23. Considering the elections scheduled for December 20, 2023 as an "electoral coup d'état", Nangaa declared that the Congo River Alliance also brings together other movements such as PARECO, Kyahanda, FPDC, Twirigwaneho, FRPI, Chini ya Kilima, among others. Under US sanctions over allegations of "persistent corruption" linked to the December 2018 elections, Nangaa was accused by the US Treasury of misappropriating CENI operational funds for personal and political purposes , thus delaying the electoral process. Despite these allegations, Nangaa maintains his innocence.

The Congolese army supports these young resistance fighters with artillery and combat helicopters, to prevent the coalition M23_RDF from treading national road number two, which they seek at all costs to reach in order to completely isolate the city of Goma .

Many residents of Kirotshe and Shasha continue to abandon these entities, heading towards Bweremana and Minova . At Sake panic still reigns, the soldiers FARDC becoming very numerous in this strategic city, which remains the last barrier before reaching the city of Goma .

Situation yesterday evening   08:30PM

Resident tensions was high on the lakeside axis in Masisi territory, following the advance of the M23 rebels.

Many residents of the villages of Kiluku, Kabase and Shasha moved largely to Bweremana , after an afternoon very agitated by rumors of the arrival of the M23 rebels. Around 3 p.m., some soldiers from FARDC who wanted to retreat to Shasha from the mountain of Ngingwe in the locality of Karuba , saw themselves caught by the Wazalendo of Shasha, who said they did not want them to abandon the combat zone. These clashes caused a strong panic among certain residents who abandoned the locality, rumors had circulated saying that the M23 had seized Shasha , a locality which, once taken, would leave the town in isolation from Goma via the city of Sake to the rest of the Democratic Republic of Congo, apart from Lake Kivu located in its southern part.

Two bombs also exploded near the Shasha health center during the day, there were injuries among the civilian population according to the information we have.

After Mushaki,m23 dispatches to neighbouring subcounties!

Yesterday evening Thursday, the M23 rebels who were heading in the direction of Karuba turned around on the Karuba road just like those who were heading in the direction of Matanda , turned back at level of the bridge located in the farm of Bizimakara .

On the Mushaki Kabaya axis, the M23 rebels advanced to Bunyole, Kabaya up to a few kilometers from Bihambwe .

This morning, we have confirmation that the M23 rebels are in Kabaya 2, on the hill occupied by Baudouin NGARUYE in 2007.

The inhabitants of Bihambwe, out of fear, fled all night heading towards Katale, and others headed towards Rubaya .

This morning again, some rubaya populations were abandoning the area heading towards Kinigi, Kibabi and Katoyi, fearing the advance of the rebels.

In all areas, everything was calm this morning.

Several observers believe that the intensification of attacks by the M23 rebels is a form of blackmail and one-upmanship, to prove to public opinion that the EAC_RF contributed greatly to the maintenance of peace and stability in areas where they cohabited. with the rebels.

The representative of the secretary general of the UN in RDC Madame Bintou Keita, yesterday called on all parties to "defuse tensions, and the M23 to immediately cease hostilities, while recalling that the MONUSCO stands by alongside the FARDC , and will do everything to ensure the protection of civilians.
