A total of  485 elements of the armed group and Mouvement Politico-Militaire Nduma Defense Of Congo Rénové (NDC-R) surrendered to the Armed Forces of the Democratic Republic of Congo on Monday, August 17, 2020 in Kashuga, in the Masisi territory in the north. -Kivu.
Désiré Ngabo, current president of this pro-Gilbert Bwira movement which gave out this information said that these elements have handed over to the FARDC 90 individual weapons, a weapon of the PKM brand and another of RPJ7.
“We are in the process of surrender and already yesterday (Monday, editor's note) in Kashuga in Masisi we brought out the first wave which is of 485 elements, 90 individual weapons, 1 PKM and 1 RPJ7. The next step will be to go in the other axis so that the surrender is effective, ”he said.
Hundreds of other NDC-R elements scattered in several villages of Masisi and Walikale are expected for the surrender to be effective.
This movement calls on the Congolese government to take ownership of this process and that the FARDC deploy in the entities abandoned by this movement to prevent other armed groups from settling there.
“We want the Congolese government to take ownership of this process and for the FARDC to deploy in the entities that we have abandoned to secure the population.
Because when we abandon certain positions, the FDLR and Nyantura settle there suddenly, ”Désiré Ngabo dropped.
In early July 2020, the NDC-R announced the dismissal of Guidon Shimiray as the commander-in-chief of this self-defense militia. Since then, the latter has taken a few men with him and clashes with the wing Bwira Gilbert have already made about fifty words in both camps

PHR calls on the United Nations, through its peacekeeping forces, MONUSCO, to ensure the continued protection of Dr Mukwege and to strengthen the security of staff at Panzi Hospital in Bukavu, DRC

In a press release dated August 17, 2020 that Physicians for Human Rights (PHR) alarmed the urgency of Dr Mukwege's worrying situation.
"Physicians for Human Rights (PHR) urgently calls for immediate action to protect the doctor, his family members, his patients and the vital work of the staff at Panzi Hospital," said PHR.
The call follows an "alarming bullying" campaign, both online and offline, against Dr Mukwege.
"General James Kabarebe, former Rwandan defense minister and longtime security adviser to Rwandan President Paul Kagame," Dr Mukwege denounced on Rwandan state television. Dr Mukwege and his family have become the target of attacks on social media and have received death threats on his mobile phone via text message, ”it read.
And to indicate:
“The intimidation efforts appear to respond to Dr Mukwege's condemnation of a wave of recent killings by local armed groups in the provinces of South Kivu and Ituri in the DRC, and in reaction to constant appeals by Dr Mukwege for implementing the long-standing recommendations of a United Nations mapping report on the most serious human rights violations in the DRC between 1993 and 2003 ”.
These include, according to the statement, investigations and prosecutions for atrocities that have claimed the lives of millions of people in the region and have included mass sexual violence that has caused thousands of women and girls. seek and receive treatment from Dr Mukwege and his colleagues at Panzi Hospital.
"Physicians for Human Rights considers the threats against Dr Mukwege and his family to be serious and disturbing given his leadership role in supporting human rights and justice, including reparations, across the region," says PHR .
This includes, he continues, his first-hand knowledge of the atrocities as a doctor who treated thousands of survivors who suffered serious injuries caused by decades of political violence in eastern DRC.
“His constant calls for an end to impunity for international crimes in the Great Lakes region undoubtedly preoccupy many powerful actors who prefer to deny or escape responsibility for the long and painful history of crimes against the humanity that has still not been taken into account in these lands rich in minerals where looting, rape and murder have left millions of people impoverished and insecure, ”testifies this New York-based defense organization.
And to continue:
"PHR calls on the United Nations, through its peacekeeping forces, MONUSCO, to ensure the continued protection of Dr Mukwege and to strengthen the security of staff at Panzi Hospital in Bukavu, DRC."
This is why the PHR urges the Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights to publicly defend its role in the investigation and mapping of the atrocities committed in the DRC which have still not resulted in meaningful accountability, and to support effective transitional justice processes in the DRC.
"And we call on all governments to refrain from and speak out against provocative messages that deny human rights violations and threaten the dignity and safety of respected global human rights defenders like Dr Mukwege," it read.
And mean:
"PHR continues to support an end to impunity in the DRC for the international crimes of sexual violence, looting and murder, and is concerned about the escalation of violence in many parts of the country."You can read more here
It should be remembered that this is not the first time that Dr. Denis Mukwege has been the subject of a target. In October 2012, he was severely assaulted and his family was held at home at gunpoint during an assassination attempt, because of his work and advocacy.
He denounced the 16-year conflict in the country and called for those responsible to be brought to justice during a speech at the United Nations.

USA and Israel to fight S400 air defence system if it gets to Iran.

On Friday, the United Nations Security Council rejected a US draft resolution to indefinitely extend the UN arms embargo against Iran, which is set to expire in October. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu called the decision “scandalous,” while senior US Senator Lindsey Graham claimed it makes “a major conflict” with Iran “much more likely.”
The United States and Israel are already preparing for a scenario in which Russia sells advanced air defence systems such as the S-400 to Iran, including by conducting drills involving the destruction of advanced surface-to-air missile threats, Breaking Defense has intimated.
The outlet points out that Iran has “already invested in modernized Russian air defence systems, such as the S-300,” and has recently expressed interest in the S-400. “The Russians are likely to find an eager customer in Tehran,” the defence news site argues, pointing to a recent flurry of diplomatic activity between Moscow and Tehran, and Iranian Ambassador Kasem Jalali’s comments in July that the Islamic Republic was interested in buying Russian weapons to enhance its defence capabilities.
At the same time, in early August, for the second time in 2020, US and Israeli Air Force F-35 fighters took part in joint drills, with their aims said to include improving the jets’ survivability against simulated “sophisticated  enemy air defences and fighters before striking ground targets,” according to Breaking Defense.
The drills, dubbed 'Enduring Lightning II', involved the US 421st Squadron and Israel's F-35I Adir jets, and took place over southern Israel on August 2.
In November 2019, the Pentagon’s Defence Intelligence Agency released an assessement suggesting that Russian defence hardware including the S-400, the K-300P Bastion coastal defence system, Su-30 fighter jets, and T-90 main battle tanks were some of the weapons Iran might be interested in buying from Moscow after the UN arms embargo expires.

Incoming Iran Sanctions

Russia's Bastion-P coastal defense missile system during a parade rehersal. The Security Council’s rejection of the US’s resolution to indefinitely extend the embargo prompted President Trump to warn that additional sanctions would be applied against Iran in the near future. Prime Minister Netanyahu of Israel, meanwhile, vowed that Israel would “continue to act in close cooperation with the US and countries in the region to block the Iranian aggression.”
In addition to taking an interest in Russian and Chinese air defence systems, the Islamic Republic has also considerably boosted the capabilities of its domestic military industry in recent years. In June 2019, Iran’s khirdad 3 air defence system shot down a cutting-edge $220 million US surveillance drone over Iranian airspace in the Strait of Hormuz. In August 2019, the state ordered the bavar 37whose characteristics are superior to those of the US Patriot, according to Tehran, to be added to Iran’s air defence network.
