The m23 reoccupies some zones it has vacated

 "The M23 rebels have reoccupied localities formerly abandoned as part of the ceasefire. These are the hills of KIBARIZO, KABALEKASHA, KIRUMBU BUKOMBO, RUGOGWE, BUSUMBA and BURUNGU in MASISI Territory, the hill of RUHUNDA in KIBUMBA in NYIRAGONGO territory. They tried to settle on the ridge of Kanyamahoro in Kibumba near Goma, going so far as to place the Kenyan contingent of the EAC behind their lines. It was necessary the pressure from the FARDC and the dissuasion of the regional force so that the latter withdraw",

Uganda shifting boundaries ,stealing the Democratic Republic of Congo land,Claims the congolese locals?

The population of the Busanza group, Rutshuru territory, under occupation by the M23, alerted on Tuesday September 26 about the annexation of part of their land by Uganda. According to local sources, the annexed part is located in the village Mungo, near Bunagana. The same sources speak of an operation to demarcate the border limits in progress, for several weeks, between Bunagana and Musezero hill. Last weekend, a Ugandan delegation began placing new markers in the Congolese part. These Ugandans have gone about three kilometers deeper into the DRC, these residents explain. Already hostages to the M23 rebels, these populations no longer have access to their fields, after this part became Ugandan. Provincial deputy Emmanuel Ngaruye invited the government to inquire into this situation: “We ask the Congolese government to be able to urgently free the entities occupied by the aggressors. And that these bad decisions be corrected, in particular, the border boundaries moved by the Ugandan authorities.” Similar allegations are already being made in the neighboring Binza groupement, Rutshuru territory where border boundaries are already being moved by neighboring Uganda.

The claimed shifting of the boundaries which separate DRC and Uganda is also blamed on  rebels of M23 whom they claim are in accomplice with Uganda,and  are at the same time claiming UPDF is pro M23 ,M23 are  installing customary chiefs in the territory of Nyiragongo north of the town of Goma .Mwami Makombe Kiribahuma denounces  this in his letter as indicated in the photos.

On the same case of shifting boundaries,in a conversation on 24/09/2023 with one local inhabitant.

Case of moving the boundary markers on the border between the DRC and Uganda. Residents who are now prohibited from accessing their fields  . They ask Kinshasa to react before the worst happens.

In need to confirm this, this evening I had to go visit mungo via Gihuranda ,by passed Rukundo town council then crossed nkanka  and As i write iam on the ground,Mungo is the birth place of my geat grandmother(all my paternal family lineage is in DRC,with one of the family of my great grandfather still in congo),it is just a few meters from the site where Uganda through DOTT company is constructing an industrial park ,and near the river of Nkanka ,me on the ground and Claims by locals on ground  of being stopped  by the rebels of M23 from accessing their fields in the village of Mungo located a few meters from Bunagana and the hill of Musezero in the territory of Rutshuru , a village whose the large part is claimed to have been annexed to Uganda after shifting the boundaries according to local civil society. The population who are victims of this dispossession want to file a complaint so that their land can be returned.

Words from One of the inhabitants;

"I have 8 children since my father gave me this part. For several years all the old people of this village have known that the limit between the uganda and the DRC is well known. Unfortunately, the M23 which says is coming to save us and gives our land, instead theyhave given part of our country, the DRC, to their Ugandan allies who are only there to plunder us,” confides one of the claiming victims.

I and my good friend are still traversing the whole of this border stretch from mungo to kitagoma to confirm if this claim is true!!! Tomorrow we will get you more.

Rebels of #M23 insist on dialogue with #Kinshasa . However, they continue to deploy them in the buffer zones

.

"Dialogue being the only pillar supporting the process, Kinshasa takes the fatal risk of shaking the entire peace process and reducing to nothing all the efforts made by the heads of state of the EAC and the international community for the restoration of peace in the DRC", notes bisimwa , President of the March 23 movement.

For two weeks, the M23 has been holding meetings in the hope of rallying the population to its cause and turning its back on Kinshasa.

Since last weekend, they have strengthened themselves in the groups of #Kibumba and #Buhumba in the territory of #Nyiragongo north of the city of Goma.

“Nyundo hill in the Buhumba grouping was reoccupied by elements of the M23 who are also visible up to kibumba in nyiragongo territory" claims the locals.
