A base of the MONUSCO attacked by the militiamen in South Kivu, two blue helmets soldiers injured


According to our source in FiZI,Two blue helmets soldiers were injured during a militiamen attack on Thursday, 28 May against the temporary base of the United Nations Stabilization Organization Mission in the Congo (MONUSCO) located in the (territory territory) ) in South Kivu.
The attack is as of  now nolonger in action and the calm has returned, says the Mission. The high plateau of Mwenga, are affected by self-defense armed groups that belong mainly to the local Banyamulenge, Bembe and Bafuliiru communities that have been fighting for more than two years.
Last March, a militiamen attack was carried out against a camp of the displaced in Mikenge. They have gathered since 2019 near the base of the blue helmets after the armed violence that ravaged several villages forcing many families to move.
