5 militiamen from the coalition of armed groups Ngumino and Twigwaneho were killed in clashes with the armed forces of the Democratic Republic of the Congo (FARDC) near Minembwe in the territory of Fizi in South Kivu.
In these attacks, 2 FARDC soldiers were also killed and another 3 injured.
The news was confirmed this Wednesday, May 2020, 27 by Captain Dieudonné Kasereka, operating sector door 2 South Kivu.
He says that it has been since Saturday 23 May that two rebel armed groups attack FARDC positions.
" The coalition of armed groups Ngumino and Twigwaneho has been attacking different positions of FARDC around the rural commune of Minembwe in the territory of Fizi in the territory of Fizi. For 4 days, 2 military killed and 3 were seriously injured. 5 militiamen were killed as well ", he said.
Captain Dieudonné Kasereka also claims that the same rebel coalition went to attack the the armed group "Biloze Bishambuke".
He says that for now the calm has returned and the DRC army remains awake.
