FARDC repulsed an alleged maimai attack in Mabasele district of North Kivu

 


Armed Forces of the Democratic Republic of Congo (FARDC) repulsed, during the night of Tuesday 08 to Wednesday 09 September 2020, a rebel attack attributed to the suspected Mai-Mai in the Mabasele district in Oïcha, capital of the territory of Beni in the province of North Kivu.

The information was confirmed this Wednesday, September 09, 2020, in the morning by the mayor of the commune of Oïcha, Nicolas Kikuku.

According to this official source, these assailants who wanted to attack the FARDC position in the Mabasele district in the part called Pumuziko were quickly brought under control.

“This morning, there is a lull in Mabasele after a restless night following the crackling of bullets. Our FARDC elements retaliated against a group of armed men who wanted to sabotage their position. The enemy did not receive any advance towards the civilians ”, declared the mayor of Oïcha, Nicolas Kikuku.

The same source informs that no damage was recorded.
