Major General Mpezo Bruno launched this appeal this Wednesday, October 11, 2023, at the end of the meeting of the urban security council extended to the heads of the neighborhoods of the city of Goma, which he co-hosted with the mayor of the city, Senior Superintendent Kapend Kamand Faustin. He took the opportunity to also ask the population of Goma not to let themselves be carried away by rumors spread by the enemy to panic the inhabitants and disorient the administrative and military authorities engaged in the fight against the enemies of the DRC. During the same meeting, Major General Mpezo Bruno reminded his various interlocutors of the necessity and need to always keep and capitalize on the achievements of the various “participatory security task forces” scattered throughout the city, with a view to a successful civil-military collaboration that bears fruit for the peace of the population. All the same, the boss of the 34th military region cut short rumors according to which Wazalendo had stolen a Sukkoy type military fighter plane, information relayed by the enemy. Regarding a Wazalendo element killed in Kilijiwé on Tuesday evening, Mpezo Bruno said he was aware of the situation. He also calls on the population to ban popular justice, to instead arrest uncivil people and place them at the disposal of authorized services and not kill them, human life being sacred.
