The village of Muhola recaptured by the FARDC with the support of the UPDF

The village of Muhola and several entities of the group of the same name, in Lubero territory, North Kivu province, have returned to the control of the DRC Armed Forces (FARDC), supported by the Ugandan Army (UPDF), following a joint operation conducted on Thursday, June 26, 2025.

The area was occupied by a faction of the Wazalendo movement, which has now been dislodged. Colonel Kiwewa Mitela Alain, military administrator of Lubero, hailed this progress as a decisive step towards the restoration of state authority.

"The FARDC, with the support of the UPDF, conducted coordinated offensives that made it possible to regain control of the Muhola group. "We call on the population to cooperate with the authorities to consolidate this newfound peace,"

According to local security sources, the attacks targeted several strategic positions held by Wazalendo fighters, thus contributing to greater security in the region.
