M23 holds an emergency meeting in bukavu

 An emergency meeting was held today, Tuesday, January 20, 2026, in Bukavu, by the M23-AFC .

According to several witnesses present, Corneille Nangaa, B. Bisimwa, and other leaders of this coalition arrived in Bukavu/Muhumba in the early afternoon to participate in this meeting.

According to some rumours from m23 soldiers around bukavu, this meeting may have focused on a strategy for the definitive withdrawal of Rwandan troops from Bukavu and the Ruzizi Plain. Other sources suggest discussions are instead aimed at relaunching offensive operations against the city of Uvira.
