In just one week, at least 50 Congolese civilians and soldiers have been killed, primarily with bladed weapons, by the ADF/ISCAP in the territories of Beni (North Kivu) and Mambasa (Ituri), areas under siege.
The affected villages include Mungamba, Byakato, and Makumo, as well as other areas not under siege (Haut-Uélé, where the ADF launched its first attacks)
The Makumo center, in the Babila-Babombi chiefdom of the Mambasa territory, was once again plunged into horror on Sunday, May 10, 2026, around 7:30 p.m., during an attack attributed to the ADF fighters that claimed the lives of at least nine civilians and set fire to several homes. In our last post we had already alerted of a possible attack on innocent children and mothers,You can read our previous post by clicking on this link
Thisattack by ADF/ISCAP on Sunday left at least nine civilians killed in Makumo, in the Mambasa territory of Ituri province. The bodies of these civilian victims remaining at the scene after several hours of the attack, with many residents fleeing the area for fear of their safety.
The attack was claimed this Monday morning by the Islamic State, which described the victims as "Christian militiamen."
Behind this tragic toll lie shattered families, traumatized children, women in distress, and many people still missing after this latest tragedy that has struck a population already suffering from recurring insecurity.
The residents of Makumo denounce the lack of intervention capable of protecting civilians at the time of the attack and are sounding the alarm about a humanitarian situation that has become unbearable.
In fear and mourning, the population is calling on the Congolese authorities, the FARDC (Armed Forces of the Democratic Republic of Congo), and national and international partners to take urgent measures to ensure the long-term security of Mambasa and protect human lives. Makumo mourns its dead, Mambasa is still bleeding, and the affected communities are now demanding justice, humanitarian assistance, and effective protection against the violence of armed groups.
Provincial authorities located more than 100 kilometers from the sites of these incidents (Beni and Bunia) appear to be less informed or indifferent to these horrific massacres, not even mentioning them in their recent public statements.
In Kinshasa, political analysts claim there is no time for distraction with this news, which could skew the government's record, as it paints a rosy picture of its success in favor of a third term or a constitutional revision, supposedly dictated by the people through a referendum.
Despite this tendency to downplay the deaths in this part of the Democratic Republic of Congo, the situation is deteriorating, with the ADF continuing to expand its operational area within Congolese territory despite a major offensive conducted jointly by the Armed Forces of the DRC and the Ugandan army (UPDF).
Propaganda images from this fundamentalist movement attest to the widespread damage, often ignored in cabinet reports, which frequently present a positive picture of the security situation across the entire Congolese national territory.
We have been producing various credible intelligence reports on these ADF to the extent that on Friday we made an alert a possible attack on civilians, which unfortunately did happen in the night of sunday-monday.We noww call upon all anti terror societies and organisation to join hands together to fight these terrorists, whose Target is mainly the innocent civilians. This fight should not bbelft to the UPDF and FARDC alone!
......NE.....
For God and my country!
