Armed clashes and loud detonations were reported this Friday, October 16 in several areas of the South kivu, according to local sources.


​From 1 a.m., fighting involving the Armed Forces of the DR Congo, supported by Wazalendo fighters, broke out in front of positions attributed to the M23 FRN rebellion on the Rugezi axis and in the vicinity of Minembwe.


At the same time, heavy weapons fire was heard from 4 a.m. in the mountainous areas of Muhungu and Mugobe, near Kamanyola, as well as in Kaziba, where detonations have been reported for several days.


​Faced with the deterioration of the security climate, local populations remain forced to hole up in their homes. Furthermore, information not yet confirmed by independent sources indicates the presence in the region of administrative officials designated by the rebellion.

Attacking the Qualcomm's GPU

 - When writing an Android exploit, breaking out of the application sandbox is often a key step. There are a wide range of remote attacks that give you code execution with the privileges of an application (like the browser or a messaging application), but a sandbox escape is still required to gain full system access. This blog post focuses on an interesting attack surface that is accessible from the Android application sandbox: the graphics processing unit (GPU) hardware. We describe an unusual vulnerability in Qualcomm's Adreno GPU, and how it could be used to achieve kernel code execution from within the Android application sandbox. C.G. Haenel MK556 Won German Army Tender To new assault rifle.

  After almost six decades with Heckler & Koch, the German Bundeswehr appears to have selected a new supplier for its assault rifle.  A MK556 configuration shown on Haenel’s site (Haenel Defense) C.G. Haenel MK556 Won German Army Tender To Replace G36 The C.G. Haenel  company belongs to the Merkel Group, which is part of the Tawazun Holding (United Arab Emirates). The group also owns Caracal. According to several sources the German Ministry of Defense has chosen C.G. Haenel GmbH to supply the next German Assault Weapon.
