KDF recruitments!






 The Kenya Defence Forces today, 25 September 2023, officially kicked off interviews for this year’s shortlisted Tradesmen/ women candidates at the Embakasi Garrison in Nairobi.

The occasion, which saw hopefuls turnout with the intention of securing available slots within KDF in their respect field of specialisation, is part of the ongoing KDF’s nationwide recruitment drive and is set to close at the end of this week.

In his address to the candidates, Chief of Personnel (COP) Brigadier Elijah Gatere congratulated the shortlisted candidates for being among the shortlisted and assured them of KDF’s commitment in ensuring a free, fair and transparent recruitment process in-line with the KDF Act. Brig Gatere also urged them to steer clear of any malpractices during the recruitment drive and warned of swift action against those who will be caught engaging in the recruitment malpractice.

“As it has always been and will continue to be, the KDF strives to be fair in all it’s recruitments. To this end, I’d like to advise anyone planning to facilitate any form of corruption to desist from it in advance so as to avoid the dire consequences that come with it,” he said.

He further reiterated the importance of observing a high standard of discipline during their stay within the military establishment, noting it to be crucial in facilitating the smooth running of the process.

Also at the occasion was the Commander Kahawa Garrison and this year’s Chief Recruiting Officer Brigadier Mathew Lenamunai, who reiterated the COP’s guidance and further encouraged the potential recruits to put their best foot forward while undertaking the recruitment processes.

The candidates will undergo various selection stages geared towards sifting candidates with the requisite qualifications to be recruited into the KDF. These stages include: document verification, medical examinations and finally interviews from KDF professionals in their respective fields, after which successful candidates will be issued the official calling letters and proceed to report at the Recruits Training School (RTS) in Eldoret.

Present during the process were the Commandant School of Military Engineering and Senior Recruitment Officer (SRO) Colonel Peter Wanga, Senior Medical Officer (SMO) Colonel Gabriel Tembelio, Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) Colonel Margaret Wambui, Senior Officers, Officers and Service Members.
