The newly created militia in Nyiragongo foight its first battles this Monday in Nyiragongo near Goma . Clashes were reported this Monday evening in Nyiragongo north of the town of Goma . Our confidant source on site indicate that these are rebel elements of the armed group APCLS who are confronting the newly created militia in this part of the country. The latter are competing for control of the villages of Kanyamahoro and Kanyaruchinya indicate this confidant sources which report that fear invades the population which begins to free the the area as I write now. "While most of the displaced people from the territories of Nyiragongo and Rutshuru have found refuge in this area, there is a high risk of seeing them pour into Goma if this situation is not contained" warns one independent analyst.. The President of the displaced people of #Rutshuru and #Nyiragongo denounces several incidents linked to this situation and pleads for the security of the displaced people.

"Following the crackling of bullets on Monday, several displaced people emptied their sites to head towards the town of #Goma . One displaced person was shot and admitted to hospital for treatment. We ask our authorities to protect us because armed men in military uniform looted the property of the displaced at the EP site #Mboga here in the territory of #Nyiragongo . You imagine people who steal the only cup, saucepan, or bogus, even the tarpaulin of a displaced person who has 5 children!

We left our villages fleeing the M23 war to be far from the crackling of bullets and bombs. Today we experience this music almost every day because armed groups surround the sites where we hid. They often fight and we are victims of these recurring clashes,” argues Musegura Theo, president of displaced people from the territory of Rutshuru and Nyiragongo.

Citzens have done a great work in the arrest of an armed robber

Vigilant residents arrest armed man Residents of Kiwatule this afternoon foiled an attempted robbery in Kiwatule after gunman entered Liquid Cash Emergency Loans with intent to rob. The suspect, Isaac Mulengenyi, 23, reportedly fired in the air to scare onlookers however mob charged at him, arrested and handed him to police. A case of aggravated robbery has been opened at Ntinda Police Station Vide CRB 123/2019 while a rifle has been recovered with nine rounds of ammunition. The suspect is still being detained at Ntinda pending appearance before court.
