Rwanda and M23 accused of attacking the airport in Kisangani

No

Bangoka International Airport, located in Kisangani, was attacked on Saturday, January 31, 2026, by “several kamikaze drones” allegedly belonging to the AFC/M23 rebels.

According to information from ACAJ (Congolese Association for Access to Justice), these drones were intercepted and destroyed by the FARDC (Armed Forces of the DRC) air defense system. However, one enemy drone crashed a few meters from the runway.

Congolese authorities condemned this “new attempt by the rebels to destabilize the country” and assured that the FARDC would redouble their vigilance to protect strategic infrastructure and the civilian population.

This incident comes amid ongoing tensions between the Congolese government and the AFC/M23 rebels, who are supported by neighboring Rwanda. Peace talks between the parties remain stalled.

Rubaya mining site landslide kills over 200 Congolese miners under the M23-AFC's rampant exploitation

At least 200 dead. Men buried under the earth they were trying to extract to survive. In Rubaya, in the Masisi territory (North Kivu), the landslide that occurred on Wednesday, January 28, 2026, at the Luwowo mining site, in the Gasasa area, goes beyond a simple accident. According to the Congolese government, it is a stark symptom of an illegal mining system that transforms artisanal mines into death traps.

In a statement published on January 31, 2026, the Ministry of Communication and Media expressed the government's solidarity with the victims' families. But beyond compassion, Kinshasa paints a stark picture: this tragedy is a direct consequence of "the rampant and illegal exploitation of Congolese natural resources orchestrated by Rwanda and the M23/AFC."

This tragedy is not an isolated incident. As early as June 2025, more than 300 civilians perished in similar circumstances within the same mining area. For the authorities, these events reflect a recurring pattern in which civilians are exposed to extreme risks in a completely lawless environment.

The government reiterates that the Rubaya mining area has been classified as a "red zone" since February 2025 by ministerial decree, a measure renewed in November 2025. All mining and mineral exploitation activities, including artisanal mining, are strictly prohibited there.

According to the authorities, the mining activities that continue in this area under armed occupation fuel a vast system of organized plunder. Between 112 and 125 tons of coltan are reportedly extracted each month in Rubaya and shipped exclusively to Rwanda, without proper traceability.

Kinshasa also denounces the failure of regional and international mechanisms meant to certify the origin of minerals, particularly the ITRI/ITSCI mechanisms and those of the ICGLR. These systems have allegedly failed to prevent the certification and sale of minerals from sites classified as "red zones."

The government further reiterates that the plundering of natural resources in the context of armed conflict is prohibited by international law, notably by the Hague Conventions (1907) and the Geneva Conventions (1949). It also cites the Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court, which defines such acts as war crimes.

The authorities state their intention to document these facts in order to initiate legal proceedings before the competent courts and reiterate their determination to restore state authority over these sites.

Who is supplying uniform to armed bandits and rebels?

Security services intercepted suspicious packages in Butembo on Friday morning, January 30, 2026, during a routine check at the MEPROBA travel agency.

Indeed, every truck arriving from Goma and other areas under M23 control is subject to a rigorous search upon arrival in the city.

The intercepted package was a FUSO brand truck carrying various goods. Among these was a package containing mottled green military uniforms, other khaki uniforms, and boots.

According to sources from the investigation room, these goods were destined for a security company. The authorities have opened an investigation to fully clarify the situation.

Various OSINT sources claim that it was the new FARDC uniforms intercepted in Butembo and destined for the ADF terrorists!

The same OSINT sources lament that ,this is a well-known modus operandi: "corrupt officers, in collusion with certain traders, steal or have enormous quantities of uniforms produced and resell them to the ADF terrorists at exorbitant prices. In turn, the ADF invade villages and surround the population, wearing official FARDC soldier uniforms. The poor victims are unsuspecting until it's too late... the entire village is then decimated! A serious investigation is needed to dismantle this network that facilitates the ADF's massacre of civilians."

James Wizeye appointed deputy director of Rwandan external intelligence.

President Kagame has made changes to the National Intelligence and Security Services (NISS). Brigadier General Jean-Paul Nyirubutama, a professional operative who has no blood of innocent people on his hands, has been replaced by the notorious Jimmy (James) Wizeye, a ruthless NISS operative who has been operating in Europe under the diplomatic cover of First Secretary at Rwanda’s embassy in the United Kingdom (UK).

His recall to Rwanda illustrates Criminal Paul Kagame’s growing diplomatic challenges in Europe, especially in the UK, because Jimmy Wizeye has been essential to providing diplomatic cover for intelligence operations and for  money-laundering activities on the continent. He  also blamed by many victims for being the chief coordinator of poisoning operations in Europe. In short, Jimmy Wizeye is a cold-blooded assassin.

The appointment of Jimmy Wizeye as external intelligence chief (Deputy Director of NISS) marks a reversal to the older operational modus operandi under which NISS was involved in eliminating targets in cities across the globe, killing operations that Brigadier General Jean-Paul Nyirubutama had halted during his tenure as head of Rwanda’s external intelligence (Deputy Director of NISS).

In 2004, Jimmy Wizeye, then a Rwandan embassy official in Uganda, was expelled from Uganda for subversive activities, after which Rwanda relocated him to the UK.
