A new military operation, dubbed “LEROMO,” was announced Tuesday in Beni to hunt down fighters from the Allied Democratic Forces (ADF), active in North Kivu and Ituri.
The operation will be conducted jointly by the United Nations Organization Stabilization Mission in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (MONUSCO) and the Armed Forces of the Democratic Republic of the Congo (FARDC), with the aim of intensifying the fight against armed groups and strengthening the security of civilians.
